When you think about Canada Pavilion, think of ice. We want to represent the dramatic breaking of the ice in Canada’s many rivers in spring after the long winter. It signifies renewal and rebirth, or “saisei,” in Japanese. But it is also about breaking the ice with creativity, including social innovation. At our pavilion, young Canadians serving as our frontline hosting staff will offer a warm, open-hearted, open-minded welcome to all visitors, encouraging people-to-people dialog and interaction. In addition to the wonderful innovations, the most meaningful legacy of the Expo will be those human interactions.
