Repeated Discussions on Policy Proposals for Solving Regional Issues
Seminar by Professor Katsuya Hirose and Professor Kimie Tsuchiyama in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law
This article introduces students from the seminar led by Professor Katsuya Hirose and Professor Kimie Tsuchiyama in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law. Their activities focused on participation in the Public Policy Forum (Public Policy Studies Association), where members of the Association develop policy proposals in response to issues raised by local governments. Seminar students have received numerous awards to date.
Other unique learning opportunities in the Hirose-Tsuchiyama Seminar include a component of the seminar called "Policy Topics," where students bring and discuss themes of personal interest, and seminar papers that allow students to explore and write their individual interests. The two professors provide multifaceted support to students as they take on the challenge of finding answers to questions with no single correct solution through discussion and exchange of ideas with their peers.
